Algorfa is a traditional Spanish village mainly untouched by tourism and so still maintains the traditional quaintness of a small Spanish village.  With so many Spanish locations having succumbed to the tourist effect, it is a breath of fresh air to still be able to find a village that is Spanish, with all the wonderful character that Spain has to offer.

Algorfa is a short 35 minute journey from either Alicante or Murcia airports and both airports are catered for by all major airlines, including the budget airlines.  Algorfa is a typical Spanish village and is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, which is enhanced by the dramatic backdrop of the Sierra de Crevillente Mountains.  Algorfa can also boast 300+ days of sunshine, making it an ideal honeymoon location, no matter what time of the year your wedding is.

As Algorfa is not an area saturated with tourism, for those on a budget, it is a very inexpensive honeymoon location with apartments starting from as little as £170 per week.

So why Algorfa?  What is there to see and do?

Imagine awaking to the wonderful aroma of the Lemon and Orange groves wafting in through your balcony doors, on the gentle breeze.  After a leisurely breakfast on the balcony, you decide on a relaxing day on the beach.  You take a trip down to the nearby spectacular Blue Flag beach, Guardamar del Segura, and spend the day enjoying the miles of clean golden sands, seafront promenades and peace and tranquillity; while the warm sea gentle laps at the sand.

If however today, you would rather try something a little bit more active, why not take a leisurely tour around the nearby beautiful historic city of Orihuela. Spend the day shopping in the many elegant shops and enjoying the historic gothic, baroque and renaissance buildings.  Then stop for a spot of light lunch, in one of the many traditional tavernas, before setting off again on your leisurely sightseeing.

Of course, if you are feeling really energetic there is always the beautiful La Pedrera Nature Reserve, located between Algorfa and Orihuela, to explore.  Here you can enjoy mountain biking, hiking, climbing and even swimming and horseback riding. If you want, you could just enjoy a romantic picnic in the secluded picnic areas.

Maybe today you fancy taking to the water? Then take a short drive to the Mar Menor (small sea), famously known as the largest salt lake in Europe. With a maximum depth of only 8m and temperatures higher than average, the area is renowned for its water sports and has many scuba schools and international standard sailing schools.

If Golfing is your passion, then you are in luck as the Costa Blanca is becoming known as The Golf Coast, with 15 Championship Golf Courses within the area. The nearest and only a short walk from the apartment is La Finca, one of the most talked about golf courses in Spain. An 18 hole golf course where non members are welcome. With the Costa Blanca averaging 300 days of sunshine, few days are lost to rain.

After a day spent as busy or leisurely as you choose, come the evening, if you decide not to eat in, there are always the local restaurants in Algorfa. Take a romantic moonlit stroll to one of the many restaurants that Algorfa has to offer.  With the cuisine being both local and global, even the most discerning palette will find something to enjoy.

However if you are looking for a more lively evening out, you can always visit the nearby bustling coastal resort town of Torrevieja. With Torrevieja being located only 15 minutes drive away and full of shops, restaurants and bars, it makes a great evening out.

Then when you are ready for bed, come back to Algorfa for a quiet, restful night's sleep, in preparation for another beautiful Costa Blanca day.

Algorfa is perfectly situated to offer a multitude of things to see and do, thereby making it the perfect European honeymoon destination.

Whether you are looking for activity or just somewhere to relax, and enjoy the company of your new husband or wife.  Algorfa has it all.

Give the Costa Blanca, Spain a try and say "hola" to Algorfa!

Thailand attracts many honeymooners every year and this should come as absolutely not as a surprise. The country offers a number of world class resort destinations which include Hua Hin, Samui, Phi Phi, Phuket and Kao Lak for example. This article will offer some information on the most popular Thailand honeymoon destinations for couples that are interested in visiting this magnificent country after their wedding.

I would also like to offer some insight information as to why so many newlyweds opt for this nation. There are of course a large number of beautiful and topical beaches which are ideal for anyone that would like to enjoy a quiet and romantic holiday. Thailand is also home to some of the finest resorts and hotels in the region and room prices are considerably cheaper then what people are used to back home.

Please find below some of the most popular areas of the country which honeymooners normally visit during their vacation.

Bangkok

Although Bangkok is a very large and busy city, many people do frequently choose to spend one or two nights in the Thai capital. There are many excellent restaurants and shopping venues which you can visit and enjoy.

Phuket

This is one of the leading tourist islands in the world and there are so many attractions, activities and wonderful hotels on Phuket so it is of course an ideal destination for newlyweds.

Phi Phi

The Phi Phi Islands has been the leading destination for honeymooners for more than a decade. This is the right place for those of you that you would like to enjoy a quiet and relaxing vacation with your new wife or husband.

In my opinion, every couple who plans to tie the knot should plan for three things at least: a) the wedding (quite obviously); b) family life (again, a given); and 3)... the honeymoon.

Let us explore a bit the relationship of this three.  Family life, at least in the Philippines, mostly would require marriage.  A good family plan includes this critical ceremony.  This is the consummation of sleepless nights, long talks over the phone (or texts), emails, and what-have-you.  But if you want to get off on a good... no, GREAT start, there's the honeymoon.

Honeymoon comes in all sorts of shapes and sizes, so to speak.  And starting off on the right foot requires that we wade through all the honeymoon packages being offered by different travel agencies, hotels and resorts, and even wedding planners.

What are the things to consider while planning that first magical week with your recently acquired life partner?  Read on and I hope the tips below could be of help.

  1. Know thyself.  Two become one so it's really not you alone anymore who gets to decide (unless of course you want to pull a fast one and sweep your sweetie off his/her feet).  What is it that characterizes you?  What is it that you want? These are some questions you need to settle.

For example, you want to stay close to your roots and have this as a theme to celebrate your love while staying romantic, relaxed, and hopefully reinvigorated after months of preparation for your wedding.  You want a destination that you both will enjoy, without having to spend much.

  1. Once you got #1, decide on the best honeymoon destination.   In our example, you want your honeymoon to be here in the Philippines, in one of its grandest beaches—BORACAY.  Honeymoon destinations matter a lot as it sets the atmosphere for a romantic getaway.  You can say that every day is a honeymoon but really, it can only happen once and you want this to be special.
  1. Iron out the details.  How many days will it take?  Do you have the budget?  What are you in for?  Honeymoon isn't just hugging and cuddling, you might want to get to know each other a little deeper.  Why not go island-hopping, snorkelling, and jet-skiing.  After which, you get a relaxing massage or aromatherapy.
  1. Take care of the logistics.  You can always book yourselves airline tickets, hotel reservations, etc.  But why ruin the honeymoon romance with that?  Leave it to the expert.  Taking care of these things could be as easy as ABC.  Just give your travel agency a call or send them an email and they'll take care of this for you.
  1. Lastly, the early bird gets the worm.  There are certain benefits to doing everything early... or at least these two things.  One is to plan early.  You do not need honeymoon planning get in the way of the actual wedding planning.  You are doing yourself a disservice if the details of these two events get mixed up.  Second is to book early.  You will be saving serious money by booking your airline tickets and hotel reservations way ahead of time.  Also, you may ask your travel agency if they have available promo in your chosen honeymoon destination.

Remember, you need not subject yourself to stressful planning.  There are travel agencies that could handle this for you.

In tough times couples spend more on memories and less on over the top abundance and what better way to start your marriage off right than with an unforgettable honeymoon? But that doesn't come without a price tag. Even still, we've found ten easy ways to save in hopes that you can have your cake and eat it too.

  1. Rent an apartment
If you know you want to spend several days in one location, look into short-term rentals. Often you can find fantastic furnished apartments that are available for rent by the week and are much cheaper than most hotels. As an added bonus you get to experience a more local feel and the culture since you are living where the locals do.
  2. Don't be shy – tell them it's your honeymoon!
When you're on your honeymoon, don't be afraid to flaunt it! Everyone wants to celebrate with newlyweds, so make sure everyone knows from the beginning of the planning and booking process up to nights out at dinner on your special vacation. Simply by mentioning that you are newlyweds to an airline might get you an upgrade. You could find everything from hotel upgrades, special suites, perks like champagne and flowers in your room, discounts and romance packages to free drinks/desserts from random well-wishers!
  3. Know your limits and set your priorities
When you start to plan, sit down together and make sure you're on the same page. Discuss what your desires and goals are and what you must have and what you can live without. Make sure you know your budget and plan something within that so you feel comfortable and relaxed during your trip and not anxious about what the final bill will be.
  4. Work with a travel agent
A travel agent is a great resource and can be a wonderful money-saving resource as well. Since they work in the industry, they can often get amazing deals to pass along to you and can create for you a customized romantic trip. Use an agent that specializes in the area you want to go to, an agency that works with cruises, one that has extensive knowledge of Italy, and of course, specializes in honeymoons.
  5. Consider a honeymoon registry
A honeymoon registry is great for those looking to save. Some travel agencies and websites offer a registry service where guests can contribute to a honeymoon fund and travel expenses in lieu of wedding gifts. Guests can also pick a specific perk to give, like a spa treatment or romantic dinner away so they don't just feel like they are giving you money.
  6. Consider an all-inclusive tour, hotel, or cruise
If worry and hassle free travel is your top priority, this is a great way to make sure you know the exact costs of your trip before you go with no fear of going over. Most all-inclusive venues include meals, room, drinks, entertainment and activities, and taxes. Make sure you do know what they do and do not offer so you aren't disappointed if, for example, if they don't include alcohol.
  7. Plan a few romantic nights in
If you book a place where there is a kitchenette, go to a local market and get fresh indigenous fare to cook an intimate dinner for two. Stop by a major store when you arrive and get basic necessities like snacks and easy things to make for breakfast, lunch, and drinks. That way the only meals you have to worry about are dinners out and you can easily make and pack sandwiches for a hike or quesadillas out by the pool.
  8. Inquire about packages
Not only can you find amazing extras when you sign up for a package (which may have a romance, honeymoon, spa, or sport theme), but rates for these packages can include tips, airport transfers, and tax, which can end up saving you big money over the usual room-only rates -- even while you are getting all the perks! Don't forget to ask wherever you go about specials for newlyweds.
  9. Take advantage of off seasons
All destinations have high and low seasons that can have extreme variations in prices just weeks or even days apart from each other. Sometimes this is due to the weather, but in many tropical destinations there is great weather year-round and price fluctuations are due to an influx of people escaping cold weather at home. Even if there is a weather difference at your chosen location, the money saved might make up for a little bit of poor weather especially if you are going somewhere where your focus will be sightseeing and not just laying on a beach.
  10. Research when booking your flights and book in advance
Often there are smaller airports to fly into that can be cheaper than using major hubs, and airlines run deals at different times of the year. Look into cashing those frequent flyer miles that you've been saving up, and check online discount websites for the cheapest flights. Also, check with your hotel to see if they offer complimentary airport pick up and drip off to start saving the moment you land! Plan well in advance and avoid those last minute fees and rate hikes.

When people talk about luxury travel, they're often talking about flying first class. Flying first class definitely has its perks; larger seats, better drinks and meals, more personal attention, etc. But these luxuries come with a price. The differences between a first class ticket and a coach ticket are significant and they limit many people from flying first class. However, there are a few ways to get deals on first class airfare. The top three ways are 1) searching online, 2) upgrading at the last minute, and 3) accumulating frequent flyer miles.

Find Luxury Travel Deals Online

The Internet should be the first place you turn to for all your travel needs, including deals on airfare and luxury travel. The web is filled with travel web sites that offer discounts on airfare to many top travel destinations. These sites often purchase tickets in bulk at a discounted price or utilize airfare search engine technology to search the web and databases for comparative rates and savings on travel tickets. The web allows you to bypass the traditional travel agent and search for cheap airfare on your own, ridding any "service charge" or "additional services" expenses that often accompany purchasing tickets through a travel agency. By searching the web for luxury travel deals, you'll be able to find amazing deals on first class airfare and finally fly the way you've always wanted to.

Find Last Minute Luxury Travel Deals at the Airport

Some airlines allow passengers to upgrade their ticket at the last minute. Often, these last minute upgrades are much cheaper than booking a first class ticket in the first place. That's because these last minute ticket upgrades aren't always available. It depends on the number of seats available in first class. On some flights, first class is completely booked, eliminating any last-minute first class ticket upgrades. However, on flights where first class is practically a ghost town, the airlines will be more willing to upgrade your ticket for a small fee just to make a few more bucks. So, if you've always wanted to fly first class and only have a coach ticket, ask when you check in if a first class upgrade is available. You might just find a very inexpensive first class upgrade and finally be able to experience luxury travel.

Accumulate Your Frequent Flyer Miles for Free Luxury Travel Deals

If you fly a lot for business or personal reasons, it's a good idea to sign up with an airline's frequent flyer program and start earning miles. A frequent flyer program is an airline's way of rewarding customer loyalty. Through such programs, flyers earn points (a.k.a. miles) each time they fly. Flyers can then cash in their points for different products or services, including free first class ticket upgrades. The more a person flies and the longer the flights are, the more points the flyer accrues. So, if you fly frequently and want to experience luxury travel, become a member of an airline's frequent flyer program and start earning points for a free first class upgrade.

Remember the old days of airline travel? You drove to the brick-and-mortar travel agency, sat down with a travel agent, and discussed your vacation or business-travel plans. As we all know, those days are long gone. The rise of the Internet and online travel agents has made vacation planning and airline reservations a breeze. Nowadays, you can plan your vacation and book airline tickets at your computer, from the comfort of your home.

Using online travel agents makes vacation planning easier and more efficient than going through a traditional travel agent. You simply input the dates of your departure and arrival, your destination, and which airport you'd like to use. The online travel agent then searches hundreds of fares to find the best one for you, letting you compare offers from dozens of airlines. You can also check fares from airports in the surrounding areas from your chosen airport. Online travel agents also offer you the option of setting up e-mail alerts to find a fare in your preferred cost range.

The Advantage of Online Travel Agents

The benefits of online travel arrangement don't end there, however. Hotel and car reservations are also available when using an online travel agent. Airline reservations can be bundled with deals from car-rental agencies and hotel chains, allowing vacationers, business travelers, and frequent flyers to do some one-stop shopping.

E-tickets are also available when you use online travel agents. Although some passengers feel more secure with a paper ticket in hand, these days, many airlines are charging extra for paper tickets. E-tickets, on the other hand, are cheaper and can be printed from your computer. They also allow passengers to check in online, over the telephone, or via self-service terminals at the airport. With e-tickets, boarding passes may also be printed at virtually any location with an Internet connection and a printer.

But What about the Human Touch?

Some may decry the loss of human contact when making important travel plans with an online travel agent. After all, if reservations are lost or erroneous, it's hard for your computer to lend a sympathetic ear. However, in this 24-hour, workaday world, the convenience of an online travel agent allows travelers to make reservations at any time, not just during business hours. Online travel agents put you in control, allowing you to customize your reservations down to the smallest detail.

Speed, efficiency, and choice are the online travel agent's stock in trade. Take advantage of this technology, and you'll never have to page through a travel brochure again or sit in a travel agent's office again!

Once upon a time…

Before the dawn of the information super highway, brick-and-mortar travel agencies were the key to booking travel arrangements and finding deals on airfare. These agencies helped travelers plan trips and book flights, hotel and car rental reservations, and other travel necessities. But as the Internet started to dominate all areas of commerce, travelers began to turn to online travel agencies instead of the brick-and-mortars. These "virtual" agencies offered all the travel planning options and discounts conventional travel agencies offered without requiring travelers to leave their home. No longer did travelers need to make appointments and meet face-to-face with a travel agent just to make travel arrangements. There was now a convenient online solution to booking travel arrangements and finding discounts on airfare.

Reality Check

Online travel agencies haven't completely decimated the conventional brick-and-mortar shops. Traditional travel agencies still do a great deal of business with travelers and are one viable solution to booking travel arrangements. However, as busy as our lives can be, online travel agencies do offer a quick and convenient solution to finding airline tickets without taking you away from home, or even work – and the brick-and-mortar shops realize this. Some conventional agencies are also hitting the web and establishing travel websites to cater to those individuals looking to quickly search for and book flights. So even though online travel agencies haven't completely decimated the conventional travel agency industry, they have established a viable and convenient alternative to booking vacations, business trips, and other travel plans.

Life Still Exists in the Brick-and-Mortars

Conventional travel agencies still command a large portion of the travel booking industry. Their face-to-face service is what keeps them in business and, depending on the needs of the traveler, a more realistic solution to booking travel arrangements. When you book your travel plans through a brick-and-mortar travel agency, you're working with real people and if you're a frequent traveler, it's nice to have a "favored agent" to turn to for travel information and advice. With an online travel agency, you're simply interacting with a virtual interface that allows you to search for and book your own travel plans without ever speaking with a live person. Many people prefer face-to-face interaction and would never even dream about using a travel website to book their travel plans. There is still something to be said about personal service and the conventional travel agencies are capitalizing on it by offering personalized services and conveniences to travelers.

So Where do We Go from Here?

As you can see, there are benefits and disadvantage to both conventional and online travel agencies. Each one offers its own experience and features that make it unique from the other and in favor with different people. When it comes to selecting the best option for you, you merely need to ask yourself "What am I looking for in a travel agency?" The best way to answer this question is to check out a few online travel agencies, compare them to some brick-and-mortars, and see which ones have the savings, products, and services you desire.

Mauritius is a tropical paradise and one of the most beautiful places for a romantic honeymoon.

Mauritius enjoys an extensively varied culture, due to its multifaceted history. It’s greatly influenced by its British and French ties and principally Indian workforce. The result is a mix of assorted cultures, religions, and languages. The variety is also evident in the food, which is a mix of Indian, Creole, Chinese, and European.

Mauritius is the ultimate honeymoon destination with amazing beaches, great food, world class spas and excellent honeymoon spots.

Exotic Beaches
The Island of Mauritius has warm turquoise waters with pristine white sandy beaches, gently swaying palms and aromatic blossoms. It is an ideal destination for a wedding or honeymoon.

Pereybere
Pereybere is situated on the coastal road between Grand Baie and Cap Malheureux. Pereybere offers deep and clear blue waters. It is definitely the most popular among young people, with some of the best beach action around.

Grand Baie
Grand Baie is probably the most popular beach on the island,. It is a safe place for swimming, sailing, windsurfing, and water skiing. Only 20 kilometers away from Port-Louis, Grand Baie has a host of clothing and craft shops, restaurants and trendy night clubs. From Grand Baie, one can catch a helicopter for an excursion along the coast, or get onto a boat for a trip into the deep seas to Coin de Mire, Ile Plate and Ile Ronde.

Cap Malheureux
Cap Malheureux is a small fishing village located on the furthest north tip of Mauritius. Cap Malheureux offers a magnificent view of some of the small islands off the coast. Among others, Ile Plate, famous for its lighthouse; Ile Ronde, inhabited only by palm trees, harmless boas and indigenous lizards; Ile aux Serpents, which, despite its name, is not infested with snakes; and Coin de Mire, an enormous rock of historical importance, since it was from there that the English secretly embarked on September 2, 1810 to win over the island from the French

Mont Choisy
Mont Choisy is situated on the northern coastline, and is one of the best beaches around. Locals enjoy spending the weekend there, relaxing in the sun, enjoying the sea and playing soccer on an adjacent field. The entrance to the beach is guarded by a monument, commemorating the first airlink between Mauritius and Reunion Island on September 10, 1933, undertaken by a Frenchman by the name of Sutel, and a Mauritian, Jean Hily. The latter unfortunately lost his life on the second attempt held on October 4, 1934.

Trou-Aux-Biches
Nestled between Mont Choisy and Pointe-aux-Piments, is a short stretch of public beach l. Trou-aux-Biches is a cozy white sandy beach, with blue waters and lazy filao trees to match. Trou-aux-Biches is also minutes away from The Aquarium, where you can acquaint yourself with the Mauritian marine life. The splendid Hindu Temple across from Trou aux Biches stands in sweet contrast to the heavenly emerald-green waters and white sandy beach background.

Flic-en-Flac
The name Flic en Flac is thought to come from the old Dutch name, 'Fried Landt Flaak', or 'Free and Flat Land'. Flic en Flac, off the Port Louis-Tamarin road, lies at the bottom of a 3Km straight road running through cane fields. It is not as cute and carefree as its name suggests. Rather, it is an increasingly busy holiday village that lies and relies on a great stretch of beach, and caters for the middle range in the market rather than the budget level, which prefers Tamarin.

Tamarin
This is the surfing centre of Mauritius, although you can go for weeks without seeing a surfer. The character of the place is more laid-back than Flic en Flac and rougher around the edges. It has a good beach and is well situated for most of the other sights. Salt evaporation ponds encircle the village. Tamarin Bay Beach - This is a small public beach with good views across the river estuary to Montage du Rempart.

Blue Bay
Blue Bay is the official public beach closest to Mahebourg.

Ile Aux Cerfs
Ile Aux Cerfs a small island off the east coast, is the next best thing after paradise. The island features vast beaches fringed with palm trees, and clear waters. There is no need to leave this paradise island since it has all you need, including restaurants and water sports facilities. Restaurants and other services are housed in small exotic kiosks, with straw roofs. Tourists can access IIe aux Cerfs by getting onto one of the small boats at Pointe Maurice. Close to Ile aux Cerfs is the beautiful but lesser known Ile de l'Est. A short distance from Ile aux Cerfs is Le Touessrok, one of the oldest five-star hotels on the island.

Planning a wedding is stressful enough. Planning a honeymoon should be a pleasure. As long as both the bride and groom agree on the locale and the activities, this part of the new life adventure should be a snap to plan. Creating plans for the perfect romantic honeymoon should include things that appeal to both, however. If one likes the water and the other hates it, a beach trip might want to be avoided.

Typically, a good honeymoon that's nice and romantic can take place anywhere the honeymooners can get some quality time together with a lot of privacy. Very few people want a lot of others around during their special once-in-a-lifetime trip together. The vacation, whether it's for a weekend or an entire month, is meant to help you both ease in to married life and create lasting memories. It should be fun, relaxing and romantic.

Before planning a trip, it's a good idea for both the bride and groom to sit down and discuss options. Be certain to pick a place together - one that really appeals to both. Although it's likely a lot of time will be spent in the room, venturing out should be a fun option that offers lots of romantic possibilities, too.

Here are some tips on places to go:

* Beach destinations. For many, there are few things more romantic than watching a sunset on a pristine beach while sipping on drinks with little paper straws and watching palm trees sway in a warm breeze. If this appeals, places such as Florida, South Carolina, California, Hawaii and even some European destinations and the islands of the Caribbean and so on are all good ideas. They all offer their own special appeal and other possibilities for romance and adventure.

* Europe. If staying in a historic city, perhaps within the walls of a romantic, medieval castle, sounds like a dream come true, countries such as Germany, England, Scotland and Ireland might be considered. Sightseeing possibilities are incredible in any of the destinations and accommodations can really be as upscale or as basic as a couple's budget demands.

* Mountains. There are few places more romantic than secluded mountain cabins. Getting back to nature offers some incredible views, which happen to be very romantic and the privacy can't be beat. Places to consider for this type of trip include anywhere in the Smokey Mountains, the Rockies, Pennsylvania, New York, Canada and Europe. Again accommodations can include upscale lodges or more rustic cabins or even tent camping. Whatever both the bride and groom deem goes.

* Ocean cruises. When it comes to beautiful views and upscale treatment, cruises are unstoppable. With lots to see and do, there's plenty to appeal outside of the stateroom.

No matter where you go or what you do on your honeymoon, remember the trip is for both the bride and groom. It's a time to kick back, relax and get to know each other even better before the day-to-day routine of married life sets in. Just make certain the trip appeals to you both, make it fun and relax; it's the stuff lifelong memories are made of.

A romantic honeymoon can be cheap, affordable or extravagant. As long as the two most important people are having fun, that's all that matters. Leave the stress of planning behind at the wedding and just enjoy the honeymoon.

There are just so many great honeymoon destinations out there. So in order to help you choose the perfect location for your honeymoon or romantic getaway, I've compiled this list of five great romantic destinations.

These five spots are all naturally blessed, with amazing scenery, wonderful hotels, and fantastic restaurants -- everything you want in a honeymoon destination.

5. Antigua

Antigua is a great little Caribbean island. It has excellent beaches and even better hotels. Home to several wonderful and intimate resorts, Antigua is laid back and relaxing. If you are looking to just get away from it all, be pampered, and enjoy a perfect beach, then Antigua is the place for you.

4. Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Cabo is known for its great golf and deep sea fishing, but it is also home to some amazing world-class resorts and some incredibly romantic locations. Blessed with year-round warmth, amazing beaches, and stunning coastal views, Cabo is one honeymoon spot you really should consider.

3. San Francisco, California

The City by the Bay is arguably the most romantic city in North America. With its breathtaking coastline, world-class dining, wonderful hotels, and the most amazing city views, San Francisco is the perfect romantic getaway for those seeking a more cosmopolitan experience. As an added bonus, the wonderful Napa Valley is just an hour away, making for a great day trip from the city. Take a hot air balloon ride over the wineries, and top the day off with a perfect gourmet dinner and a bottle of local wine - now that's a honeymoon experience to remember!

2. St. Lucia

One of the most beautiful islands in all of the Caribbean, St. Lucia is also home to some incredible romantic hotels set in about the most beautiful locations you can imagine. A volcanic island, St. Lucia is known for its steep peaks covered in lush tropical greenery. It is truly a romantic paradise, with amazing beaches, dramatic coves, and incredible sunsets. Saint Lucia is the perfect place for a quiet, romantic honeymoon.

1. Riviera Maya, Mexico

Located south of Cancun on Mexico's eastern Caribbean coast, the Riviera Maya is home to white sand beaches, stunning turquoise waters, and ancient Mayan pyramids and other ruins. There are some wonderful new hotels along the Riviera Maya too. The area is great for those seeking modern comforts combined with the opportunity for adventure. Venture out from your luxury hotel to explore the pyramids or go diving in ancient underground rivers. The Riviera Maya is a great place for anyone looking for that perfect mix of romance, excitement, culture, and vibrant nightlife, and it's one of my favorite romantic destinations.

If you’re recently engaged and starting to plan the perfect wedding and honeymoon, don’t overlook one of the most important wedding considerations – location! Having your wedding in an exotic romantic location can make it even more memorable.

If you want a tropical, wedding location with sandy beaches and swaying palm trees, then the Caribbean is the destination to consider. It’s close, there are lots of direct flights, the weather is warm year round and it lends itself to a relaxed, stress free wedding.

Popular Caribbean wedding destinations include Costa Rica, Dominican Republic and St. Thomas. Especially for Americans, the logical Caribbean choice is island of St. Thomas in the U. S. Virgin Islands. As a U.S. Territory, St. Thomas operates under the laws of the United States Government, so your wedding will be as hassle-free as a wedding anywhere in the mainland U.S.

Getting married in St. Thomas is easy, the documentation is just $100. ($50. application fee & $50. license fee). The paper work can be done in advance with a downloadable Marriage License application form, then mailed to the Superior Court in St. Thomas, together with a $100. Certified Check or money order.

An advantage of a Caribbean island wedding location is the option of renting a private vacation villa in St. Thomas to enjoy the ultimate, romantic and luxurious wedding and honeymoon setting. Private villa rentals offer many advantages over hotel accommodation: firstly, it’s a luxurious private residence, so you can have the space and privacy that no hotel can offer. Villa rentals are usually large with several bedrooms and private swimming pools, etc. so

For example, the Sand Dollar Estate villa, the ultimate luxury vacation villa rental in St. Thomas, has 8 bedrooms plus a romantic separate 2,000 sq. ft. guest cottage (the perfect honeymoon accommodation). It’s all set on an exceptional 2.5 acre estate with its own private white sand beach on Magen’s Bay. In total, the villa estate can accommodate 22 people, making it the perfect Caribbean wedding honeymoon location.

Combining a wedding and honeymoon in a tropical location is a combo that makes for unforgettable, romantic memories. Your honeymoon starts immediately after the ceremony, not after a tiring day of airport security, airport transfers, and connecting flights. What a relaxing and no-stress way to start a marriage!

If you're looking to choose a romantic honeymoon destination, you might a bit overwhelmed by the sheer volume of choices available. There are many great honeymoon destinations out there, from Hawaii t Mexico to the Caribbean.

In order to help you narrow down your choices (aond maybe even think of some places you haven't previously considered), I have compiled the following list of the very best honeymoon spots.

So here are my choices for the top 5 honeymoon destinations:

5. Zihuatanejo, Mexico

One of Mexico's hidden gems, Zihuatanejo is located on Mexico's southern Pacific coast. A quaint little town set on an amazingly picturesque bay, Zihuatanejo has wonderful art galleries, restaurants, and small hotels. It's a great place for those seeking to get away from it all on their honeymoon while still experiencing world class service and dining.

4. Tahiti and Moorea

This chain of islands in the South Pacific is truly naturally blessed, with lush vegetation, amazing lagoons, crystalline waters, beautiful beaches, and laid back, friendly locals. Luxury accommodations here range from standard rooms to private over-water bungalows. What more could you ask for from a romantic island paradise?

3. St. Kitts and Nevis

Luxury is the operative word in St. Kitts and Nevis. Less well known than many other Caribbean islands, St. Kitts and Nevis are a bit of a well kept secret amongst those who enjoy ultra-luxury vacationing away from the crowds of better known destinations. The Four Seasons Nevis might just be the best hotel in the Caribbean. Gorgeous, exclusive, and home to the best beaches and the best weather in the Caribbean, St. Kitts and Nevis make for an ultra-exclusive honeymoon destination.

2. Kauai, Hawaii

Kauai might just be the most beautiful of the Hawaiian Islands, and it receives my vote for the most romantic. Home to several amazing hotels, from the Princeville hotel on one end to the Hyatt on the other, Kauai is the perfect place for a Hawaiian honeymoon. On Kauai, you avoid the crowds while enjoying breathtaking natural beauty, from the awe-inspiring Waimea Canyon to the stunning Na Pali coast to world-famous Hanalei Bay, there is plenty to see and do on Kauai - that is when you are not enjoying the most amazing beaches in Hawaii.

1. St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands

Tranquil, stunningly beautiful, and utterly romantic, St. John is my idea of paradise. Much of the island is a U.S. national park, but there are a couple world-class hotels on St. John, so if you can get a room, you are in for a real treat - a honeymoon in a true natural paradise.

Whether you are looking for a quiet, laid-back stay or an action-packed vacation, chances are you will find a destination that suits the desires of you and your partner for a romantic honeymoon in the United States.

1. Hawaii

With its pristine beaches, tropical scenery and wide variety of foods, activities and tourist spots to keep you busy, Hawaii is a popular choice for countless honeymooners from around the world. Hawaii offers a number of tourism options for the various types of guests it hosts each year. Some visitors might opt to rent a car or take a guided tour around the island they are staying on. By exploring the islands of Hawaii, guests will enjoy discovering serene waterfalls and spectacular views of the beautiful beaches that lace the outskirts of the islands. Perhaps one of the most romantic Hawaiian pastimes comes in the form of watching a sunset with your new spouse. For the active couple, Hawaii offers a number of top golf courses that honeymooners can enjoy. One of the more popular activities is to attend a Hawaiian luau.

2. Niagara Falls

Couples can register to get a guided boat cruise around the falls. For a fun night out, honeymooners can visit Casino Niagara, conveniently located right across from Niagara Falls. For honeymooners who enjoy day trips the scenic Catskill Mountains are not located far from the falls. There are two "sides" of the falls, the US side and the Canadian side. The Canadian site give you a much better view of the falls so don't forget your Passports!

3. Florida

Vacations in Florida are ideal for honeymooners. Disney World offers special honeymoon vacation packages to cater to those looking for a romantic getaway. There are even a number of Disney resorts that attract couples rather than families. If theme parks are not your cup of tea, consider a trip further south to Key West or Miami. These areas offer classy resorts, sprawling beaches, and plenty of attractions that will keep both you and your significant other happily busy.

4. Las Vegas

If you have money to blow and you're feeling lucky, Las Vegas is the place for you. In addition to gambling, you will find shopping, nightlife, and even a short drive to the Grand Canyon where you can sit in your car and look out over the moon.

5. California

California here I come! There is a reason the Beachboys wrote so many songs about the California coast. There are so many potential honeymoon destinations it's hard to name them all. If you want a more quiet honeymoon you can visit Carmel or Santa Barbra. If you want a more adventurous honey moon you can visit the L.A. area where you can visit Universal Studios, Disney Land, Knotts Berry Farm and Magic Mountain.

As Stephen Covey mentioned in his book "First Things First" begin with the end in mind. What type of honeymoon would you like to have? What feelings would you like to experience during your honeymoon? What activities do you and your partner enjoy doing together? Most couples often make the mistake of choosing the honeymoon destination first without going through the above questions. In doing so, they are limited with the activities and sights offered by that particular destination.

Suppose that both of you are adventurous and enjoy the wildlife. In this case, a safari honeymoon would be an ideal choice. Then you decide which country can offer you the ultimate safari honeymoon. Another example would be, both of you are beach bums and enjoy shopping. In this case you need to narrow it down further; do you enjoy surfing, diving, snorkelling or just lazing around the beach to get a tan. Then you can decide which beach destinations can also offer you shopping spree with fantastic deals.

Once the honeymoon destination has been decided, plan in advance how the both of you can make the honeymoon experience better. I am sure that both of you have taken holidays before either on your own or as a couple. Think back, what would have made your previous holidays much more enjoyable? Would your holidays be better if you can interact more with the locals there? Then you can start learning some simple phrases and terms before your honeymoon. Or do you find that during your previous holidays, you arrive at your destination only to find that the place was simply too crowded and noisy. Then you can plan for more privacy during your honeymoon by choosing more secluded places or even going there during the off-peak seasons. And the list simply goes on.

Just by putting a little more effort in planning, you can have the time of your life and a most memorable honeymoon.

Where can we expect to get the most for our money?

Ann Lile: All-inclusive resorts will give you the most for your money since most packages will include all meals, drinks, and non-motorized activities available at the resort.

The Colonial Cities of Mexico (including Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, Guadalajara, San Miguel de Allende, Zacatecas and Merida) are also good value, giving the traveler a cultural/historical experience similar to Europe, only at a much better price.

When is the best time of the year to go to Mexico?

Ann: The peak season for traveling to Mexico is December through April, while the low season is from May through November.

The official hurricane season is June to October, which affects primarily the Yucatan Peninsula and Southern Coast. If you're going to be honeymooning during hurricane season, and can't take the chance of being visited by a hurricane on your vacation, you might be wise to avoid these regions of the country to be absolutely safe.

Rainy season is May through mid-October. The rainy season is of little consequence in the Northern region of the country while the Southern region typically receives tropical showers in the late afternoon on a daily basis.

Do you have any "hidden gems" of Mexico?

Ann: My personal favorites are the colonial cities of Mexico. These cities offer a tremendous amount of history, culture, architecture, a great climate, and a taste of the real Mexico. Built back in the 1500's near the silver mines, these cities offer many small, intimate properties for vacationers of all kinds.

Highly recommended places to stay are the Quinta Real properties in Huatulco or Aguascalientes, which will give the traveler an intimate experience that combines the true flavor of Old Mexico with a historical feel.

Compared to Tahiti or Hawaii, what makes Mexico a special destination?

Ann: In addition to having beautiful beaches and various water activities to enjoy like Hawaii and Tahiti, Mexico affords the traveler the opportunity to experience wonderful archaeological sites such as Teotihuacán, Monte Alban, and Palenque. In addition, travelers can explore the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza, Uxmal, and Tulum.

Mexico is also home to many all-inclusive resorts, which provide wonderful value for travelers.

Where do celebrities like to stay?

Ann: As expected, celebrities flock to resorts that offer the ultimate in luxury, comfort, and privacy.
Here is a short list of my personal favorites:
Cancun - Fiesta Americana Grand
Ixtapa - Villa del Sol
Riviera Maya - Paraiso de la Bonita and Maroma
Los Cabos - One and Only Palmilla, Marquis Los Cabos, Hotel Twin Dolphin
Costa Alegre - El Careyes, El Tamarindo, Hotelito Desconocido
Puerto Vallarta - Four Seasons Punta Mita, Grand Velas, or Kevin Costner's house!

The wedding registry is a great way to allow wedding guests to pool their resources towards a more meaningful, and desirable set of gifts. If you decide to use one for your wedding and honeymoon, make sure to offer a wide range of choices on your wish list, and also make sure that all guests know about the registry, and that they are able to access it. If you convey your wishes clearly, and make reasonable requests, the guests are more likely to be able to make a gift choice that will benefit you.

Why Consider a Honeymoon Registry?

A honeymoon registry is similar to a wedding registry, although instead of helping people choose wedding gifts, a honeymoon registry would request that the guests contribute to the cost of the honeymoon. The idea is a very good one, and can be very useful in helping newlyweds have the honeymoon they have always dreamed of, but there are a few problems with the system.

It will require an early notice to all the guests, i.e. some three months in advance. This means that the guests would have to be invited about three months in advance, which will in turn mean that all the arrangements (at least the majority of them) be finalized and printed in a card some three months in advance as well.

In spite of the long advance notice, sometimes even several weeks after the wedding not all the guests will have joined the honeymoon registry. In that case it would be difficult for you (unless you can complement the rest of the finances) to really take up the honeymoon plan, which could be extremely frustrating.

The honeymoon registry takes a lot of effort and planning to set up - if it works, it can be a massive help in allowing you to have the honeymoon of a lifetime, but if it is not successful then you may find yourself rushing to make alternate plans, and disappointment is not the ideal start to a marriage.

Warnings and pessimism aside, there are some good reasons to try a honeymoon registry. If your guests like the idea, then it can be a very nice way to pay for your honeymoon without stressing your finances even more than they already are by the wedding itself.

Instead of getting five toasters, three juicers, and unending sets of china tea sets, you will be able to make your wishes clear about what you need from your guests. The guests could decide whether they want to join the honeymoon registry or not, based upon their financial capacity and commitments.

Should the honeymoon registry not manage to pay for the entire honeymoon, you will still be able to use it as a source of cash - if you treat it as a subsidy for the honeymoon expenses, instead of a way to pay for the entire trip, then anything that you do get through the honeymoon registry is a bonus.

Remember that you can use money deposited into the honeymoon registry for anything you wish - you do not have to go to a specific place, or even travel at all for that matter - you can use the money for any purpose, so if you pay for the honeymoon some other way, then the honeymoon registry could be used to help you set up home together, for example.

After the craziness, stress, and expense of your wedding the last thing you want to worry about is spending more then you need to on your honeymoon vacation package. While some honeymoon packages include airfare most do not leaving you to make air travel arrangements yourself.

Airfare can be rather expensive and for the honeymooning couple keeping cash in their pocket and out of the airlines hands makes their romantic vacation together that much better. Luckily it is possible to find dirt cheap airline tickets you just have to know where to look and have some patience. Here are some strategies you can use to save money on your honeymoon travel arrangements.

1. Plan your honeymoon during the off-season. You can choose just about any destination you want but plan your visit during to slow part of their tourist season. You will save not only on the vacation package itself but the airlines discount their airfares during these time periods.

2. Be flexible with your travel times. Plan your travel times for the middle of the week and during the late evening or early morning. Tickets are normally cheaper at these times.

3. Contact the airlines directly. Call the airlines ticketing number and talk to a service representative. The airlines have specials running nearly everyday that they don't advertise. If you call and ask you may be surprised at how much you can save.

4. Use an online airline booking search engine. These powerful search engines go out and scour all the travel and airline sites looking for the best discount tickets that match your travel itinerary. This saves you the time and hassle of searching through each individual site yourself.

5. Package deals. If you can find a honeymoon vacation package that includes airfare be sure to compare the airline tickets prices against prices you could get on your own. This is usually a good way to save money but you do need to check. If you can get a better deal on your own most packages will let you do that.

These 5 tips can help you find dirt cheap airline tickets and save money on your honeymoon travel arrangements. Money you can use to on each other during your romantic time together.

After the months - often years of planning for your wedding, there is nothing more attractive than taking a tropical honeymoon vacation in the tropics. Honeymoon Travel Tips:
• Make your hotel, airline, train, car, etc., travel reservations early. This ensures that you'll most likely get what you want, and if there are any changes you will have plenty of time to adapt.
In addition, make sure to tell everyone you come in contact with that you'll be on your honeymoon. From the airline reservations agent to the cab driver who picks you up, tell them you're honeymooners and you might receive special treatment or perks.

• Schedule your departure day two days after the wedding to give you ample time for rest after the activities and the celebrations. If you must travel immediately, remember to leave in the middle of the day and not the early morning so you'll get a good night's sleep.

• Take lots of pictures. Make sure the first photo you take at any destination contains the name of the location; that way, you can easily figure out later on which photos are of which attraction. Consider using separate rolls of film (or data cards for digital cameras) for each location.

• Honeymoons are meant to be relaxing and a time to celebrate:
By day, honeymooners can relax poolside or on the beach, get active with water sports such as snorkeling, fishing or parasailing, or shop and go sightseeing. A deep tissue massage at one of the many beautiful spa houses will erase any wedding stress, and lunch at an oceanfront restaurant can be followed by some private newlywed relaxation, or a wide selection of sightseeing tours and excursions.

• In addition to the above, don't be afraid to request extra stuff, like a big bathtub, a double bed, or a romantic view.
The exotic and tropical island of Bali is the perfect scene for a tropical honeymoon for newlyweds. Choosing Bali for your honeymoon could prove to be one of your best decisions EVER made.

When you're planning your honeymoon, it's likely that you and your partner won't just want to go somewhere romantic: you'll want to spend the first days of married life in a setting that's unforgettably spectacular. A cosy New England cottage might do for some, but others might expect nothing more than world class excellence on their honeymoon - and rightly so! So if you're keen to spend your honeymoon in one of the most glamorous settings on the globe, take a trip to Niagara Falls, Ontario - the "honeymoon capital of the world".

As the largest waterfall in North America, Niagara Falls attracts over 20 million visitors a year and its refreshing scenescape and stunning greenery provide the perfect backdrop for a memorable honeymoon. In Niagara Falls, you'll find plenty for you and your partner to occupy yourselves with - whether you're both eager ornithologists or you simply want to party the night away in Niagara's exciting entertainment venues. For starters, pick up your "Official City of Niagara Falls Honeymoon Certificate" at the Niagara Falls Tourism Office, located on Robinson Street. This often gets the bride free admission into a range of Niagara's main attractions and can be kept as an enduring souvenir of your Niagara honeymoon.

Once you've familiarised yourself with Niagara's main tourist and historical areas, explore its beautiful Marina and discover the area's wealth of natural gardens. From the Parks Botanical Gardens and Niagara Parks Floral Showcase to the Oakes Garden Theatre, Niagara's serene green landscapes are sure to be a highlight of your honeymoon. And if you and your new spouse are particularly fond of the Great Outdoors, head towards the Niagara River Recreational Trail, a 56-kilometer paved path that's renowned as one of the best hiking and biking paths in the continent.

For a really romantic activity on your Niagara honeymoon, why not visit a winery? Niagara wineries can range from large-scale operations to smaller, family-run vineyards, and you'll even have the opportunity to sample the local wine through wine-tasting sessions. Niagara Ice Wine, for instance, is one of the region's most famous products, winning many global awards. Often, wineries will offer on-site restaurants, so you'll be able to taste Niagara wines alongside local dishes.

Afterwards, traverse the streets of Niagara to locate its premier nightclubs and after-dinner shows. With a variety of outdoor bistros, comedy clubs and casinos offering first-class entertainment and musical extravaganzas, you and your partner are sure to love what's on offer in Niagara Falls at night.

Of course, if you'd rather spend your honeymoon nights in a hotel, you'll be able to find a range of comfortable and romantic hotels in Niagara Falls in convenient locations. Having been accustomed to honeymoon travellers for many years, Niagara Falls' hotels will often provide their guests with a wide choice of luxury suites, offering king-size beds, round the clock room service and whirlpool tubs that are more than big enough to fit two people - so you may never have to leave the confines of your room!

For years, I've been a part of the travel & tourism industry. You might say, it's in my blood. My experience comes from formal education, 1000s of books, reports, market research and other sources. One thing I do is help those in the travel & tourism industry make more money.

And with that in mind, I'd like to share with you two reasons why many travel site owners fail to realize their profit potential.

Missing Market Research

For many travel site owners, especially those looking to monetize via AdSense, it's all about finding some good paying keyword phrases and calling it a day. Unfortunately, this is a flawed plan in our industry. Site owners either get frustrated with making no real money or they make some money but lose out on a windfall of cash that the travel & tourism industry can bring.

To make money in this business, it's vital to know at least the basics of the market.

Unfortunately, learning even basic demographics and psychographics can take considerable resources (time and money) in the travel & tourism industry. However, there are places you can go to learn what's needed quickly and without great cost.

By having just a little proper market research in hand, you'll be prepared to go much further and make more money.

Lacking Proper Focus

Another issue that kills most travel site owners is the lack of focus. Many site owners incorrectly focus simply on destination rather than intent plus destination. Additionally, they try to create content that's too wide in scope.

Imagine any place in the world. Now imagine you are creating content for this place. Can any one piece satisfy all possible needs? Of course not.

Pick any destination you want and possible "intent actions" could be:

  • Honeymoons
  • Family vacation
  • Thrill seeking
  • Historical travel
  • Religious travel
  • Foodie travel
  • and on and on and on

By focusing your travel content on destination rather than intent plus destination, you're wasting most of your traffic and making far less money than you should be. You can't be everything to everyone.

Before rushing out to stake your claim to the billions of dollars in the travel & tourism industry, take some time to get to know the specific market you want to target. If you can't afford to spend hundreds of hours or thousands of dollars in research, look for the sources that do it for you. For instance, honeymoon tourism has billions at stake, but if you just rush out there with a honeymoon travel site without knowing something about the honeymoon market, you'll be missing out.

When making lists of the world's most romantic destinations and best sites to enjoy a honeymoon, travel experts always include cities like Paris and Venice. In the last few years, the island of Aruba has found its way onto many of these lists. With luxurious accommodations, gorgeous beaches and an incredible array of activities, it is no wonder that so many newlyweds have fallen in love with this Caribbean destination. The island of Aruba even offers special discount packages through many of the best resorts designed especially for those celebrating their honeymoon. Whether you and your significant other are looking for an exciting party atmosphere or a peaceful romantic getaway, you will find what you are looking for in Aruba.

If you and your significant other are the partying types, Aruba certainly won't disappoint. Some of Aruba's best resorts feature live entertainment and casinos, while local dance clubs keep the fun going throughout the night. In Oranjestad, Aruba's cosmopolitan capital, bars generally don't start filling up until 10 or 11 pm, but remain open until 2 am. Afterwards, the excitement in Aruba's dance clubs peaks around 2 am with some establishments remaining open until the early morning. When couples combine a night in the clubs with a live stage show, a ride on one of the tour buses that run throughout the night and a few games at one of the 24-hour casinos, the result is the perfect way to start an exciting honeymoon in Aruba.

When the time comes to relax with your partner, Aruba offers plenty of great activities for the vacationing couple. Even if you don't have partying on your mind, you can sip cocktails and enjoy live jazz every night of the week in Aruba. Afterwards, enjoy a candlelit dinner aboard one of the island's many dinner cruises or simply watch the sunset from a world-class restaurant overlooking Palm Beach and the Caribbean Sea. You can then end your romantic evening with a moonlight stroll down one of the many beaches.

As the beaches are the most popular attraction in Aruba, vacationing couples won't want to miss what Aruba has to offer. Many of the best resorts in Aruba are located within a short walk of Palm Beach, one of the most famous stretches of sand in the Caribbean. The sand on Palm Beach is groomed daily, while the calm, warm water is perfect for swimming and active water sports. Those in search of a romantic setting should also visit a pair of beaches just south of Palm Beach. Lying just beyond a rocky outcropping is Eagle Beach, a piece of sand that promises plenty of space to relax in the sun. Continuing south, Manchebo Beach has become a favorite of vacationing romantics. As Manchebo Beach boasts the widest plot of sugary sand on the island and motorized water sports are prohibited, this lovely beach has maintained an atmosphere of exotic seclusion.

Shopping is also a popular activity for every couple celebrating their honeymoon in Aruba. The boutiques and shopping malls in Oranjestad sell everything from designer clothing and jewelry to distinctive Caribbean souvenirs and locally produced artwork. Along the harbor in downtown Oranjestad, you will find all types of shops and restaurants set amongst historic Dutch architecture and unbeatable scenery. At night, the narrow streets of the capital city are romantically illuminated in neon, as the bars and clubs open their doors to after-hours shoppers.

As if the promise of exotic surroundings and exciting activities wasn't enough to lure adventurous couples, Aruba has developed a special travel package for happy honeymooners. Known as 'One Cool Honeymoon,' the program offers couples a number of romantic perks and plenty of exclusive discounts. Supported by most of Aruba's best hotels and resorts, this special package usually includes a complementary bottle of champagne, lucrative discounts within the resorts and discounts throughout the island on everything from spa packages to guided tours. When making reservations in Aruba, newlyweds simply need to mention the offer and inquire about what type of documentation might be required when checking in under the 'One Cool Honeymoon' program.

If you and your partner are in search of the right destination for your honeymoon, look no further than Aruba. With perfect weather and plenty of activities to keep the romance going, you may just make a tradition of visiting this Caribbean paradise.

Planning my honeymoon had become a daunting task. My fiancé and I wanted affordable luxury, an exotic but accessible location, and a timeless romantic setting all in one. We had spent a fortune on our wedding (sound familiar?) and wanted to locate the lovely, fun, romantic places that would accommodate, well... cheap honeymoons. After considering all kinds of far away, and financially far out of reach island honeymoon destinations, I stumbled across the beautiful, historic, laid back Santa Catalina Island. Just an hour away from the southern California mainland on any one of the Catalina ferries, the aptly named "Island of romance" began to capture my imagination, and after a little investigating, we were soon settled on a Catalina honeymoon.

After considering each of the Catalina resorts, I decided on the Catalina Canyon, a beautiful Catalina resort and spa, which is modern and up to date with all of the amenities that honeymooners could ask for. They have a great restaurant and bar, complimentary shuttles that take you to and from the nearby Catalina ferry terminal, which is just a few minutes by shuttle into town. Their spa has registered massage therapists, saunas, facials and a beautiful pool and poolside... I was pleased. I told them on the phone that I would be on my honeymoon and asked for any honeymoon travel deals and the woman immediately changed my rate and was very fantastic to deal with. I found the prices extremely reasonable. I will add that at all the places I checked out there was a two-day minimum stay

Although we settled on the Catalina Canyon hotel, there were other amazing Catalina hotels that we easily could have chosen. The best Catalina luxury hotel would probably be Catalina's newest hotel, the Avalon Hotel. A very romantic Catalina luxury hotel would be the Inn on Mt. Ada. Stunning views of Avalon Bay and beautiful grounds make the Mt. Ada hotel ideal for a Catalina honeymoon. If you're watching your budget, a great hotel (in keeping with the cheap honeymoons theme) would be the Hermosa Hotel. It may not be the ideal romantic type, but rooms start as low as fifty dollars a night! Remember, in all of these places ask for any honeymoon travel deals or all inclusive vacation honeymoon travel deals, when you make your reservations... the hotel manager will most certainly cut you a deal!

There are tons of romantic activities on Catalina Island. You can rent scuba equipment or snorkel in Lovers Cove (yes, that's really what it's called), rent bikes, or just go for a hike. Wildlife abounds all over and around beautiful Catalina Island, including Bison, which were brought in for a movie many years ago and now roam wild, deer, birds, sea lions, dolphins, whales, myriad fish, including of course California's state fish, the striking bright orange Girabaldi. There are extremely affordable Catalina island tours which for many, are the best way to see the abundant marine life, bison herds, whales and dolphins and historic buildings like the Wrigley estate and Catalina Casino.

Tours of the 1929 Catalina Casino are $15 and it's a great way to learn about Catalina Island's rich history. I should mention that this casino is not the gambling kind (which will only disappoint some) but instead is known for its elegant Art Deco ballroom and movie theater, which plays first run movies as well as silent movies from the past. The building is truly an architectural wonder, and nowadays is available for full service weddings, events, and is home to many events like the Catalina Island Jazz Dance festival, Valentine's Day Sweetheart Dance, New Years celebrations and events throughout the year.

Our Catalina resort, the Catalina Canyon, has its own restaurant that offers a fantastic menu, but with so many amazing Catalina restaurants to choose from, we decided not to make reservations and just play it by ear on the day. The Pancake Cottage and Sally's Waffle Shop are Catalina's most famous breakfast restaurants, featuring decadent honeymoon worthy breakfast fare. Lunchtime you can check out The Busy Bee (right on the water!) and the Buffalo Nickel, which is just a short ten-minute shuttle (free service to the restaurant!) south of Avalon, where the locals go for authentic Mexican food. Ask your Catalina resort staff where they eat, and they will likely tell you "The Buffalo Nickel." For dinner, seafood lovers must visit Armstrong Seafood. Known as the islands premier seafood establishment, they masterfully prepare lobster, shrimp, fish of all types and offer a full service bar. Villa Portofino is casual but elegant and also has great reviews for its cuisine, with famous chefs often behind the scenes in the kitchen. The Catalina Country Club has a beautiful dining room with an outdoor patio and although it is a private country club, it is opened to the public for lunch and dinner. They serve California cuisine and in the summer, jazz bands liven things up as part of the Catalina Jazz Festival.

A Catalina honeymoon not only fits the budgets of those in search of cheap honeymoons, but also offers an amazing range of Catalina Island tours, Catalina luxury hotels that won't break the bank, and is truly a romantic destination for newlyweds in search of a compromise between exotic and affordable.

For those who are having a hard time deciding what to do for their post wedding vacation looking at all inclusive honeymoon packages can be a great way to go. After all the stress and whirlwind craziness of the wedding the last thing on many couples mind is trying to plan their honeymoon. The great thing about an all inclusive package is that there is little planning involved once the destination has been decided on and it can also be a good way to save money when compared with other honeymoon travel choices.

Planning a honeymoon vacation should be as stress free as possible with the ultimate goal being a travel experience that allows the newlyweds time to them selves without worrying about itineraries and other travel headaches. Probably the hardest part of choosing a honeymoon package is deciding where to go in the first place.

The first goal of any honeymoon is choosing a destination that both parties can agree upon. When choosing the ultimate destination it is important for the happy couple to share ideas with each other and pick a location that will have the types of activities they both enjoy. Once that is done it is just a matter of finding all inclusive offers for that location, which can be a hotel or resort or even a cruise. You can also start comparing prices among all the offerings and choose the one that best fits your budget.

One of the nice things about an all inclusive honeymoon package is the fact that many resorts cater to newlyweds, making the experience that much more memorable and enjoyable. They provide an intimate romantic setting that cannot be beat. For those who have always dreamed of a romantic tropical honeymoon there are literally thousands of choices out there, from beach side resorts for couple only to week long cruises that stop at exotic ports of call.

One thing to be aware of is that "all inclusive" can vary between resorts and cruises, as can the quality. This is why it is important to compare packages and to know what is included and what isn't before paying for the trip. By doing some up-front research you can be sure to get the honeymoon package that is perfect for you and your future spouse.

Probably the best part of the all inclusive honeymoon package is that once the travel details finished and paid for there is nothing else to worry about other then packing your bags and traveling to your chosen destination. This can be a great relief before the wedding, leaving the soon to be newlyweds a chance to concentrate on their upcoming nuptials.

Getting married is one of the biggest moments in anyone's life. It's the harmonious union of two people in love. However, that love can quickly start to fizzle if the honeymoon is too costly and turns into a travel nightmare. Anytime you travel or attempt to book travel plans, there is the possibility of something going wrong. And when you're traveling for the first time as a married couple, you want your getaway to be as enjoyable and trouble-free as possible.

If you're getting married soon and want to book a romantic AND trouble-free honeymoon to an international destination without leaving you broke, you need to think ahead and establish your travel budget, choose your destination carefully, and find international travel deals.

Establish Your Honeymoon Travel Budget

One thing that many couples don't do before they start planning their honeymoon is establish what they can afford to spend on the trip. When dealing with international travel, travel expenses such as international airfare, car rentals, hotel rooms, and other items can add up very quickly. And since it's a honeymoon rather than a student travel trip, you don't want to end up staying in a hostel because you ran out of money. So, before you even select a destination, establish exactly how much you have to spend on all items involved in your honeymoon. This includes meals, travel expenses, souvenirs, and any other high-priced items. Remember, traveling internationally can be costly; so if you don't want to end up sleeping on a park bench on your honeymoon, establish your travel budget before you choose a destination.

Choose Your Honeymoon Destination Wisely

Once you have established your honeymoon travel budget, the next step is to choose your destination. When selecting a honeymoon destination, it's a good idea to first list what activities you'd like to do. Are you interested in scuba diving? Do you want to visit museums? If so, what types of museums? After you've created your list, compare it to your spouse's list; see what activities you both have in common, and create a final list.

After your list is finalized, decide when you're going to go. The time of year you travel will dictate what countries/cities you can visit to complete as many items on your list as possible. For example, if you want to layout on the beach every day during your honeymoon, but you're getting married in February, you want to find a honeymoon destination that is sunny and warm in February. The key to choosing the ideal honeymoon destination is selecting a location that satisfies your travel activities, offers the optimal climate to complete those activities, and is within your travel budget.

Find International Travel Deals

Most newly wed couples don't have a fortune to spend on their honeymoon. However, many couples still want to have a honeymoon that's exotic, international, and romantic. So the solution to having the most romantic, yet affordable honeymoon possible is to find international travel deals. The Internet is a great place to look for international travel deals and discounts on airfare. Discounted travel rates and cheap airfare deals can be found online on travel web sites and through online travel consolidators, like cFares. These travel sites contract with the different airlines and use airfare search engine technology to get the best international travel deals on flights around the world. So if you're looking for a way to save a bundle on your honeymoon, search the Internet for international travel deals.
